CPF® Get The Picture Framing & Gallery Local Gallery Introduces
New Photographic Services LINCOLN, RI 10/1/2004 – Get The Picture, a local custom framing gallery located in Lincoln, today announced that it is now offering photo-editing services. Under this service Get The Picture will restore a customer’s old photograph including Black & White, Color and Sepia Tone (historic brown shade) photos back to their original condition. Under the second service artists working for Get The Picture will convert a customer’s photograph into one of three types of fine art. The three “art treatments” are oil painting, watercolor painting and pastel illustration. Photo Restoration Service Color photos, both hand-colored photos from prior to and including the 1940’s and early color photos of the 50’s – 60’s have frequently faded during the last half-century. Get The Picture is capable of restoring damage but also bringing color back to life in these images as well. Their artists are well trained and skilled in duplicating hand-tinted color and photo-realistic color restorations. Art-From-Photos Customers typically receive a color art print of the completed rendering, which is then ready for framing. The watercolor and pastel treatments are delivered on high quality archival art papers. When an oil painted rendering is chosen the artwork may optionally be delivered on photo canvas rather than fine art paper. Print sizes start at 8x10 inches while 16x20 and 20x30 inches are also very common sizes. Other sizes are available. Typical turnaround is for a rendering to be completed is two – three weeks. Fine art portrait paintings and pastels have historically been quite expensive with prices frequently starting at $1000 or more. It is no wonder portraits have been reserved for the rich and famous. Get The Picture offers this new service starting at $99 including the first 8x10 art print. Some illustrations may be more, as are additional or larger prints. Samples are available for viewing in the gallery. The service makes great gifts. Andrew Langlois, of Get The Picture said, “We are excited about these new offerings. This is another way in which consumers benefit from the impact of digital technologies on our lives. These services are brand new to the art and framing industry and our store is one of the first in the country to offer these new imaging services. This service is ideal to complement our existing offerings, as a cost effective alternative to using a preservator. We suggest working with a digitally enhanced reproduction, and storing the original in an acid free safe environment. It is an excellent reason for the public to stop in and see us – this is particularly true with the holidays seasons coming as these make great gifts.” About Get The Picture Gallery HOME | CONTACT | FRAMING 101 | DIRECTIONS | COUPONS | GALLERY | LINKS ©
