Local framer brings home FIRST PLACE award

Andy Langlois, a certified picture framer and co-owner of Get The Picture in Lincoln, RI, was awarded First Place in the New England Professional Picture Framers Association annual competition.

This is the fifth year in a row Langlois has placed in the competition, which selects the top three among entries submitted by New England's best framers. Winners of this regional competition are forwarded to the competition hosted by the national Professional Picture Framers Association.

Andy's winning entry was in the NEPPFA's print competition, which requires all entrants to frame the same piece of artwork. The criteria for a winning entry in the NEPPFA framing competition includes strong visual impact, appropriate use of creative and design elements, techniques and materials used, and proper finishing.

Langlois received the professional designation of Certified Picture Framer from the Professional Picture Framers Association, the national trade association for professional, custom picture framers, art galleries, and framing and art manufacturers and distributors.

Andrew Langlois, CPF® of Get The Picture in Lincoln, RI has earned the CERTIFIED PICTURE FRAMER (CPF®) designation from the Professional Picture Framers Association. Andy is one of only three known CPFs in Rhode Island, and the only one in the Providence area.

This achievement permits Langlois to use the professional designation, CPF®. This designation was granted after Langlois met rigorous qualifications, including successful completion of a 3 1/2 hour, 150-question, examination administered by the PPFA. Langlois has been a professional picture framer for more than ten years. PPFA initiated this CPF program in 1986 to raise the standards of the framing profession, improve education within the industry, and recognize those framers who demonstrate acceptable knowledge & skills of established professional criteria.
